Originated 1400 years ago, Gond art is passed on from generation to generation and is practiced until today by Gond tribes in Central India. Brilliant hues of Gond art represents the soul of the tribes’ culture. They believed that every creation in the world contains nature God’s spirit which according to them is the ultimate. Celebrations, festivals and marriages of Gond tribe are filled with these paintings depicting man’s relationship with nature God. Originally painted with natural dyes on walls and floors of houses to bring good luck, this fabulous art form is now modernized with brilliant acrylic hues on paper and canvas.

This painting is showing images from the daily lives where cows are found with birds flying around them to feed the insects found on their skin. Our artist has used dotted lines filled in a specific pattern to bring a sense of flow to the still image.
