Passed down from one generation to another, Indian art is still intact in many parts of the country. Being culturally diverse and distinct, a variety of art forms have evolved over the years; some untouched by modernization, some adapting to new paint colors and materials. Classical and folk art revolves around religious concepts and is much more modern compared to the tribal art forms which mainly uses nature as its theme. Similar to diversity in Indian culture, the art forms also are diverse, all unique, admirable and inimitable in their own might. In the days of yore, the paintings were made with natural dyes and colors made of soil, mud, leaves, and charcoal, on canvas or cloth – giving it a sense of antiquity, vintage nostalgia.
